No data collection
VO2Cue does not send personal or workout data to us.
Privacy, without the fine-print fog
VO2Cue is a private-by-default interval coach for iPhone and Apple Watch. It has no account, advertising, analytics, tracking, or developer-operated server.
VO2Cue does not send personal or workout data to us.
Profiles, settings, and workout history are stored on your devices.
HealthKit access happens only after you grant Apple’s permission.
This Privacy Policy applies to the VO2Cue app on iPhone and Apple Watch. In this policy, “collect” means transmitting data off your devices to VO2Cue or to a service operated on VO2Cue’s behalf. Data processed only on your devices is not collected by VO2Cue.
VO2Cue stores your interval durations, repeat counts, cue preferences, activity choices, and related settings in the app’s local storage. This information is used to run the workouts you configure.
VO2Cue stores completed workout details such as the profile name, activity type, start and end times, duration, and completion status. This powers the History screen. VO2Cue does not upload this history to us.
If you grant permission, VO2Cue can read workout information and live heart rate during an active Apple Watch workout, and can write completed workouts to Apple Health. Health data is used only to provide workout and fitness features to you. It is not used for advertising, marketing, profiling, or data mining, and it is not sold or shared with third parties.
VO2Cue uses Apple’s WatchConnectivity framework to transfer workout profiles from iPhone to Apple Watch and completed workout records back to the paired iPhone. This is direct device-to-device app functionality managed by Apple’s operating systems; VO2Cue does not receive a copy.
VO2Cue contains no advertising SDK, analytics SDK, tracking technology, or developer-operated backend.
HealthKit access is optional. Apple presents the permission request and lets you grant or deny each supported data type. You can change VO2Cue’s access later in Apple Health or the privacy settings on your device. If you decline or revoke access, the timer, cues, custom profiles, and local history continue to work; live heart rate and saving workouts to Apple Health may be unavailable.
Local profiles, settings, and history remain on your devices until you edit or delete them or remove the app. You can clear VO2Cue workout history inside the app. Removing local VO2Cue history does not delete workouts already saved to Apple Health.
You control HealthKit records through the Apple Health app and can delete them there. Device backups and Apple Health data are managed under your Apple account and Apple’s policies.
VO2Cue uses Apple-provided services including HealthKit, WatchConnectivity, audio, speech, and haptics. Apple may process information as part of operating your devices, Apple Health, the App Store, and related services under Apple’s Privacy Policy. VO2Cue does not use third-party services to collect app data.
VO2Cue relies on Apple’s app sandbox, device security, and HealthKit protections. Workout profiles and history are stored in the app’s private container. No method of electronic storage is completely risk-free, but avoiding accounts and external servers materially limits the data exposed beyond your devices.
If VO2Cue’s data practices change, this policy will be updated before the new practices take effect. The date at the top of this page identifies the latest version.
Questions about this policy can be submitted through the VO2Cue GitHub issue tracker. Because issues are public, please do not include health information or other sensitive personal data.
