1. Information we handle
- Pet descriptions and prompts. The species, colors, accessories, personality, pet gender, and name you enter; custom background descriptions; and instructions for placing your pet in a photo. Pet gender describes the character, not your own gender.
- Selected photos and generated media. Photos you submit for adventures, pet reference artwork, generated adventures and backgrounds, and animation clips and frames. Photos may include personal information about you or other people.
- Account and service records. A randomly generated account identifier, an authentication credential, credit balances, subscription status, job identifiers, request fingerprints, job progress, errors, and generation usage records. The app creates a service account without requiring a name, email, or password.
- Purchase information. Apple transaction identifiers, product identifiers, purchase and expiry dates, signed transaction information, and refund or revocation status. Apple handles payment; we do not receive your payment card details.
- Connection information. Our backend uses your connection’s IP address for abuse prevention and request limits. Hosting and processing providers may receive IP addresses, request times, and other ordinary technical information when handling network requests.
The app does not request access to contacts, microphones, or device location. Its photo picker lets you choose individual photos; it does not upload your photo library.
2. How we use information
We use information to create and animate your pet, generate backgrounds and photo adventures, display your chosen widgets, save and recover creations, manage credits and subscriptions, verify purchases, prevent duplicate charges and abuse, and troubleshoot failures.
The app does not include advertising or third-party analytics SDKs. Generation usage records support service operations and credit accounting.
3. AI processing and other services
Using a connected AI feature sends the content needed for that feature through our backend to the following services:
- OpenAI: receives pet and background prompts, and, for photo adventures, your selected photo, pet reference artwork, and placement instructions. It creates the resulting images. See OpenAI’s privacy policy and API data controls for its data practices.
- fal.ai and the services used through its platform: receive pet artwork, animation instructions, and generated clips to produce animations, remove backgrounds, and check animal poses. The current pipeline uses PixVerse, VEED background removal, and Moondream. Provider-hosted file links are used to move artwork and clips between processing stages. See fal.ai’s privacy policy.
- Railway: hosts our backend and its stored service data. See Railway’s privacy policy.
- Apple: handles App Store purchases, subscription management, payment information, and device services. We send transaction information for purchase verification. See Apple’s privacy information.
- ZenQuotes: receives a network request when the daily quote feature refreshes. We do not include your photos, pet descriptions, or service account identifier in that request. See ZenQuotes.
These providers process information under their applicable terms, privacy policies, and retention practices. Processing may take place outside your country. Avoid submitting sensitive information or photos you are not authorized to share with these services.
We do not automatically publish your personal pets or adventures on this website or in the public source repository. If you use the iOS share sheet, the destination you choose receives the content you share and handles it under its own policies.
We may disclose information where required by law or necessary to protect the service, resolve fraud or purchase disputes, or protect people’s rights and safety.
4. Storage and retention
On your device: the app saves pet details, artwork, adventure memories, backgrounds, animation frames, onboarding progress, preferences, and widget settings. The app and its widget share selected data through an iOS App Group. Your service credential is stored in the iOS Keychain and may survive uninstalling and reinstalling the app. Copies you export to Photos or other apps are controlled separately by you and those services. Device backups may also contain app data.
On our backend: we retain account and credit records, purchase verification records, pet recipes and artwork, completed image and animation results, and job and usage records. These support recovery, replay, subscription accounting, and duplicate-purchase prevention. These records do not currently have an automatic expiry period; they remain unless removed during service maintenance, subject to any records needed for legal obligations, fraud prevention, or purchase disputes.
Source photos: the backend processes the photo you submit for an adventure without intentionally saving a separate permanent copy of the original upload. The generated adventure can include the original scene and people, and that result is retained as described above. Sending a photo to an AI provider is separate from our backend storage, and provider retention rules still apply.
External providers: files and request records held by AI providers, hosting providers, Apple, or services you share with follow their own retention and deletion practices. Removing a local creation does not automatically remove server or provider copies.
5. Your choices
You can choose not to submit a photo or use connected AI generation. You can manage photo permissions in iOS Settings, remove widgets from your Home Screen, and manage subscriptions through Apple’s subscription settings.
Depending on where you live, applicable law may give you rights concerning your personal information, including access, correction, deletion, a copy of your information, or limits on its use.
The current app does not include an in-app account deletion control. Uninstalling the app does not delete backend records or necessarily remove the Keychain credential. Manage Apple subscriptions separately through Apple’s subscription settings.
6. Security
The connected service uses HTTPS, account authentication, and account-scoped access to stored jobs and pet artwork. Authentication credentials are kept in the iOS Keychain, and the backend stores a hash of the authentication token. We take reasonable precautions, but no storage or transmission method can guarantee complete security.
7. Children’s privacy
The app is not designed to collect personal information from children. Please only submit photos of other people, including children, when you have the appropriate permission.
8. This website
This marketing website is hosted on GitHub Pages. We do not add analytics scripts, advertising trackers, signup forms, or cookies to the site. GitHub may process visitors’ connection and request information to provide hosting and security. See GitHub’s privacy statement.
Links to GitHub, provider policies, and other external sites take you to services with their own privacy practices.
9. Policy changes
We may update this policy as the app and its services change. The latest version will appear at this URL with an updated date. Where required, we will provide additional notice of material changes.
